THE HARRY POTTER THEORIES
Jul. 14th, 2005 10:11 pmThis is my official Harry Potter theories page. This way, I can point out what I thought, and, if I'm right, I can prove I knew it way in advance, lol . . .
Also, it's just fun to discuss! We've all got a little over 24 hours left to banter back and forth before the books come out (and, beleive me, I spent a lot of yesterday bantering with Kristina and this afternoon bantering with Tiffany).
Oh, *sigh,* what will we do when we have no further books to theorize over?
THEORIES FOR BOOK 6:
Sirius Black is dead (sorry, but . . . yeah . . . I mean, geez, it’s not like I WANT him dead!!!).
The Half-Blood Prince is Albus Dumbledore or Rubeus Hagrid (predicted in that order, lol . . . ). She said it wasn’t Harry Potter or Lord Voldemort. It cannot be Neville Longbottom or Ron Weasley, because they are purebloods, and it cannot be Nymphodora Tonks (Half-Blood Princess???) because she is a girl. Everyone else seems too trivial of a role to be important, but, then again, Cedric Diggory was just a name in the crowd until the 4th book, so . . . Yet, it had BETTER NOT be anyone NEW to the series . . . that would just be dumb, lol . . .
THEORIES FOR EITHER BOOK 6 OR BOOK 7:
Bellatrix Lestrange will die. Harry hates her too much. He wants to wreak revenge on her worse than Lord Voldemort, lol . . . My specific theories: 1) The hardcore theory is that Harry will go after her and kill her, and learn the terrible nature of murder firsthand, and vow never to do it again, except for Lord Voldemort, or something. 2) Neville Longbottom will kill her, in revenge for his parents. 3) Harry will try to kill her, but then someone else will, and he’ll be angry he didn’t get to do it himself– ironically close to like the feeling he had when Remus Lupin walked in before he could murder Sirius Black (which was really a good thing, now, wasn’t it?). Yet then he’ll be prevented from staining his role of perfect good.
Remus Lupin will die. My specific theory: Remus Lupin will be killed by Peter Pettigrew. After all, Peter has a silver hand, and he didn’t hesitate the first time . . . *cries for Remus.*
Peter Pettigrew will die. So will end the Marauders, and the little rat will get what he deserves, lol . . . Then again, perhaps he will end up in Azkaban. He isn’t so imperative to require a death.
Andromeda and Ted Tonks will show up. After all, they have the connection to Nymphadora Tonks, and they are still alive (contrary to a lot of bad fanfiction, lol . . . ), because she refers to them in the present-tense. Perhaps they will show up for a funeral for Sirius Black in Book 6, or something . . .
Regulus Black’s full story will come out. We will know what he backed out of and who killed him. My specific (and probably rather far-fetched) theories: 1) He was supposed to kill Sirius and Bellatrix caught him and did him in. Wouldn’t that be eerie? 2) He is connected to the Prophecy, somehow, and, well-- that doesn't rule out the fraternicide, either, too, lol . . .
Harry will visit the graves of his parents (assuming there are some). As far as we know, he’s never seen them. I can see that being something powerful, particularly if Sirius were to be buried nearby, sort of thing . . .
More of Tom Riddle’s story will show up. So far, I’m not completely satisfied with his transformation to evil. We don’t see why, really, he chose the path that he did. He can’t be all that bitter about his mother being married to a Muggle, and, even if he were teased in school for being a halfblood in Slytherin, why would that provoke him to rise up with a whole sea of the children of those who probably teased him in the first place to support their very own pet cause which destroyed him?
THEORIES FOR BOOK 7:
Lord Voldemort will die (gee . . . you think??? Lol . . . ).
Albus Dumbledore will die. Of COURSE he will die. He is the all-important wise guru! He is Harry’s other father figure! He will go the way of Gandalf and Obi-Wan and all those other white bearded types! Yet– my specific theory: In the final battle with Lord Voldemort, he will cast the same charm that Lily did to save Harry’s life when he was a baby, and then die– protecting Harry for his final battle with Lord Voldemort, which he will win, thanks to Dumbledore’s final sacrifice; the scales will finally tip towards the good in Harry, since they are so evenly matched.
Severus Snape will become the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, just as he’s also wanted, and, like all Defense Against the Dark Arts teachers, last only a year.
Severus Snape will die. As I said, he will only last a year as the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. What better way to end it than death? After all, the Death Eaters vowed to kill him.
Lucius Malfoy will die. He’s too important of a Death Eater to just simply settle for Azkaban.
Harry Potter will not die. It’s a KIDS’ BOOK, people; honestly, they’re not going to kill off the main character! He represents an absolute good! He cannot be defeated! *Slaps forehead at ignorance of Daniel Radcliffe of his own character and the nature of epic novels,* lol . . .
Ron Weasley will not die. Didn't she say this?
Hermione Granger will not die. Didn't she also say this?
Ginny Weasley will not die.
Neville Longbottom MAY die.
Rubeus Hagrid MAY die-- particularly if he's the Half-Blood Prince.
GENERAL THEORIES:
Ted Tonks is a newscaster. I’m so serious; in the first book, the first chapter: Vernon Dursley is watching the news, and someone says, “Over to you, Ted!” and Ted talks about the owls and shooting stars. “Very peculiar,” he says, with a smile. A KNOWING smile!!! It’s Ted Tonks! My specific theory: Andromeda and Ted fled the wizard world to avoid the wrath of Andromeda’s family, and Ted got a job as a newscaster, disguising himself as a Muggle, lol . . .
Fabian and Gideon Prewett, Molly Weasley’s brothers (J.K. Rowling has disclosed on jkrowling.com that Molly Weasley was a Prewett before she married Arthur) are twins, and the initial-sakes (like namesakes, lol . . . ) of Fred and George Weasley, the twins and sons in this family in which twins run in the family, lol . . .
Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger are meant to be.
Harry Potter and Ginny Weasley are meant to be.
Luna Lovegood has a crush on Ron Weasley.

Date: 2005-07-15 07:43 am (UTC)It's really actually very sad, either way. I would cry.
Yeah, my mom's getting hers and Tory's at Meijer at like 5 am in the morning . . . but, ah well . . . I get a portion off for having reserved it . . .
Lol, they had bunny races in South Bend, and if you bet on the bunny that won, you got a free Harry Potter book at the Notre Dame bookstore.
I still think it sucks you can't come. *Pouts.* You'll be with us in spirit, oh Padfoot . . . you'll have to channel Tiffany or whatever, since she's being your character, lol . . .
. . . I'm, of course, planning to take a lot of pictures, too . . .

Date: 2005-07-15 07:48 am (UTC)Ooh-- sad! I dunno, though . . . I'm rather skeptical about Hagrid's death, as is, and TWO of them would just be SO sad . . .
. . . Like a lot of these are the sort of thing where it's going to be either-or. For instance, it'd be SO sad to have Lupin and Hagrid die. She'll probably just pick one or the other, or something . . .

Date: 2005-07-14 10:35 pm (UTC)I like your Ted/Andromeda theory. It cught my attention. I've grew a fondness for them during that short period of RP.
I can't wait. I mean, I went and cosplayed. And now I am creating a shirt. Go me.

Date: 2005-07-15 07:56 am (UTC)I love them, too-- and I have a feeling they're pretty important, or at least interesting, as she wouldn't have bothered mentioning them if not. Why bother to tell us Ted's name or give Bellatrix and Narcissa a sister (particularly her name) if the couple weren't supposed to be foreshadowed? She works like that . . . tricky, tricky J.K. . . . lol . . .
Woot! I love dressing up and doing the total nerd thing ^_^ Heehee, I'm dressing up as Bellatrix, in a purple velvet dress and a Death Eater cloak. I'm PSYCHED.

Date: 2005-07-15 10:23 am (UTC)It has to be for plots sake. There has to be something, I mean, they have a daughter we see very much (well, enough) GODDAMMIT THERES GOING TO BE SOMETHING so I can fangirl!
I made a shirt that says "I AM A HARRY POTTER FANGIRL (beware) <- or we can be friends"
and the back says "NERD" and I drew a superhero stickfigure and a rainbow. For no reason. I have pictures they just need to be photobucketed-- Someone told me I should go as Ginny, But I don't know..
Omgz you guys have the whole generation. You know you're a true fangirl when you think thats really cool. haha

Date: 2005-07-15 10:25 am (UTC)I'M EXCITED TO DEATH
I fell asleep with the idea of having a firm peice of book in my arms tomorrow night that I can snuggle with. Wow. ahahano subject
Date: 2005-07-15 02:01 pm (UTC)Wait . . . I think that was supposed to be "analysis" . . . erm . . . sure . . . lol . . .
Ha ha! Fangirl shirt! That's awesome!
I looked at the pictures-- you DO look an awful lot like Ginny in those photos.
Heehee, I wonder if the people in Barnes and Noble will appreciate our efforts and give us all a prize or something, lol . . . though not all of us are dressed up; some of us just have shirts, though two of us (the, erm, two Death Eaters, lol . . . ) are dressed up in full-out Death Eater robes, lol . . .

Date: 2005-07-16 12:41 pm (UTC)Mmm no one else made shirts but I'm special.
When CoS came out I looked almost exactly like Bonnie Wright at certian points. I've always found myself more of a "I want to be lily!!" sort of person.
I didn't get a prize or anything. D= OH WELL. it was so cool.

Date: 2005-07-15 02:52 pm (UTC)I agree with your last three general theories--
although on a Prewett note, if Fabian and Gideon are twins
and the initial-sakes of Fred and George
and they're dead
does that mean Gred and Forge are fated to die? ~_~
SIRIUS IS NOT DEAD! ...just...indisposed. Or something.
*squee squee squee!*

Date: 2005-07-16 01:28 pm (UTC)Who knows if she'll even bother mentioning it, but it's still so the case.
I wondered if that might sign death for them, but, well, she has to keep the death count low, and they're very popular characters.
