I feel like crap. I'm tired, I'm in a terrible mood, and my lower regions keep sporadically hurting. I think I am going to get my period for my birthday. How fun.

We went up to the lake and put boats in. It almost feels like summer. Woot!

Now Tory is making muffins. They are graham cracker muffins. They sound yummy.

Oh, during my daily perusings of the Opinion section of the Truth, I found this:

How Will the 'Real ID Act' Be Good for America?

Can anyone explain to me how H.R. 418, aka the "Real ID Act," will be good for our country? This bill went through Congress attached to a supplemental appropriations bill to fund Homeland Security and Defense. This bill did not have any discussion on the House floor and also becomes an unfunded mandate that will cost states into the hundreds of millions of dollars. How secure will our driver's license data be, or how secure will the massive federal database be against hackers outside and inside the government?

There is much talk about the need for security in this country and how this bill will achieve that goal. This bill appears to be an attempt to enhance a failed immigration policy and failed border security deployment. We should be working on enforcing the current laws on the books and not increasing our confusion with more laws.

This act appears to copy the tenets of the old book titled "1984" where all are required to be registered and without the "mark," one will be denied privileges. How very familiar, since H.R. 418 will deny people access to federal parks and courthouses if they don't have their papers in order. If someone declines to give information when they renew their license, they would be denied a driver's license.

People should contact their congressman and senators and ask the hard questions. They shouldn't accept the threat of imminent terror if we don't get this bill passed. They shouldn't accept "we'll work out the details later." It's all an act to force us into something we really don't need. We've had "terror" throughout our history. Let's not forsake our freedom and liberty for a false sense of security.

Yea for Jessica's dad (erm . . . at least, I'm assuming it's your dad, Jessica . . . how many B. Jaegers around here are there . . . ?)! Kudos on him 1) having a point and 2) actually having a rational argument for it (though I guess it probably helps a lot that I agree with him)-- because you don't see that a lot with Truth editorials. Yea also for the pro-liberty vs. security argument (and paraphrasing Ben Franklin ^_^). I'm always down with that. When I had to argue about privacy rights-- which he mentions, too-- for a debate competition, I talked about 1984 in it, too, so extra brownie points for that, too.

Lol, I'm like the official Truth editorial critic. Lol, how dumb am I?

Have you read 1984, yet, Jessica? I loaned you Brave New World, but 1984's the other one I told you reminded me of that Equilibrium movie (which I still have to see!!!) and has about the same themes as Brave New World, only a little less organized, a little more scary . . . and a little more close to home and real life. It's a very good book. Anyway, I just thought that was cool. You can tell him I liked it, if you want . . . erm . . . lol . . .

Okay . . . now Tory is singing "The Milkshake Song" in reference to her muffins (but she's changed the words to "muffins," now, though, obviously . . . ), so now I must go eat them.

Are you listening to the Milkshake Song that I'm thinking of? Because that'd just perplex the crap out of me.

Also, sorry I have work, but am still po'. I'm planning on hitting Elkhart up in early June (maybe sooner), so I'd love to be yours then, sweet thang.

Yeah, that's my dad... he was looking for the article while I was reading Natalie Jontz's obit... it was sad, because she was in there along with three other people, all in their 80's...

I told that to Phil and he gave me a hug... *warm fuzzies*

no, I havn't read 1984... but that's three years before I was born! does that count for anything? lol

Yeah . . . I hate seeing obituaries when there's someone younger than about 50 in them.

I wonder if someone up there is trying to decimate the entire teenage population-- or at least get a law passed to heighten the legal driving age. Now would be the perfect time to do it, seeing as how we've lost about 5 people now to car crashes involving kids our age. It's absolutely crazy and excessively sad.

You should read it. It's very good. Plus it's just one of those it's just generally good to know.

Yeah, lol . . . it was written in like the 1930s or the 1950s or something in prediction to what the world would be like in 1984. Obviously, it got it a little bit wrong . . . but some of that stuff . . . hmm . . . lol . . .

Here's another hug. *Hug*

"My milkshake brings all the boys to the yard, and they're like, 'It's better than yours.' Damn right, it's better than yours. I could teach you, but I'd have to charge"?

Yeah, that's the one. You heard me ^_^ Lol . . .

Ever notice how Kelis always mentions food in her songs? She wrote the notorious "Dance With Me, Because I Taste Just Like Candy, So Dance With Me . . . " Even in Dracula's Wedding, she mentions peanut-butter and jelly sandwiches!
