Oh definitely. I mean, technically my childhood friends are now living *in another country* because I'm in a different country from where I was born. I also have Livejournal friends (that I know of) in the UK, Canada, and Australia-- and an American studying abroad in Germany.

I haven't met any of my international LJ friends yet. I suppose if I'm ever in a relevant location I'd drop a line in case something could happen, it could be cool!

Meeting good online friends in real life is so awesome. I've only done it a couple of times, but each time it was weird, awkward, but so easy, it was like meeting up with an old friend for coffee, and not much like meeting someone new at all.

The first time I ever did meet an online friend, we'd been chatting and e-mailing for years, and he ended up visiting my country. We spent hours talking and had a great time. :)
