Writer's Block: Agree to disagree

No. I have friends with differing political views, whether they're much more conservative than me, more liberal than me, or just more apathetic than I'd like to believe of voting public. I grew up in an area where the dominant political atmosphere was one with which I strongly disagreed, and sometimes even seemed totally absurd. So while I still enjoy snarking the living hell out of political viewpoints I disagree with (Elkhart Truth editorial section, much?), I've developed the ability to keep them separate in my mind from the people who hold them, who are often otherwise intelligent and decent people. There are so many fulfilling activities you can do without ever discussing politics, anyway.
Plus, it's seldom a question of the other person's views, it's how they present them and how much they tolerate mine in turn. If they won't let me hold my views, that's when we have an irreconcilable problem.
