A Nerdy Day
Sep. 29th, 2004 06:18 pmToday I was a nerd.
Today I had fun showing everyone my Economics interviews . . . I had waayyy too much fun with that. That's Nerd Point #1.
Then in World History we watched the sequel to the movie on Julius Caesar-- the movie on Augustus. Okay, so, my analogy: Caesar is Voldemort. Augustus is Lucius Malfoy. Marc Anthony is Rodolphus Lestrange. Cleopatra is Bellatrix. *Snorts*
You do realize, however, that this will help me on some test somewhere down the road?
This one isn't so close, though. Still, Nerd Point #2.
I got my whole leave-for-absence sheet signed, EXCEPT for Mr. Briddell. LAST hour. Go figure.
So, then, in English, I had a TOTAL nerd moment by showing Mrs. Kasa the "Double Trouble" song from the Harry Potter soundtrack. I showed her where in the play all the verses were and we listened to it as everyone else was filing in from lunch. Jordan was like, "Is this what you jam out to in your car?" and I was like, "Eh, if I had a CD player, I so would." I can't tell if Mrs. Kasa just thinks I'm wacko or what. Nerd Point #3, obviously.
So then we did some grammar. Fun. She always hated my groups' sentences, lol . . . but that was alright, because they were rather stupid, anyway. Yet we had fun with them. Dave and Bridget are hermaphrodites, okay?
Though our pod got no love, I did. *Beams.*
I was reading my awesomely long sentence; we had to take five or so short sentences and combine them into bigger, better sentences-- so I took the whole thing and turned it into one HUGE sentence (with dashes and semicolons, which I love-- can you tell?). I read it out loud, and Mrs. Kasa was once again indistinguishably pleased/annoyed . . . I think more pleased, though. Hey, I did her grammar. Nerd Point #4.
So then lovely Lauren Freve, of whom I complained about several entries ago, had another Amy-hating moment. She turned to Vidhi after everyone was getting over that and was like, "Ooh, it's so AMAZING!" and rolled her eyes and Vidhi and made this terribly unpleasant face.
A lot of people saw. She was rather loud. I was going to just turn around and be silently hurt, but then I caught eyes with Liz, who was staring in horror at her, shocked. Then Andrew was all like, "Lauren . . . you're so unpleasant sometimes!"
I had people on my side!
*Stops.*
You know, it's awfully mean of me to talk about her, especially when I'm being so spiteful.
Well, it's just the truth. I'm only retelling my day.
I don't hate you, Lauren. Do you realize we were buddies back in preschool? You know . . . not that that would make us friends now, or anything . . . but I've never hated you nor done anything, as far as I am aware, to make you hate me.
Though Liz did say she doesn't hate me. Why is it you say that, Liz? Does she just do it to everyone? I've suspected that for a while. If that's the case, I pity her and suggest she learn some people skills, just for her own well-being.
Anyway, I think I do believe in karma (and so, Liz, perhaps it shall be YOU who is pricked when that button comes undone, lol . . . YOU DON'T MESS WITH MY COMPULSIONS!!! Good God, do you know what I would do if I had that plastic thing on my neck? It would have to be PERFECTLY straight, or I would kill it. Therefore, it's MUCH better off where it was! Lol . . . ).
Lunch was nice today, too. I argued with Nichole about chocolate and fruit, and even though Amanda threatened to kill me a little more than usual today (lol), it was all good. Lately we've just sort of been sitting in a rather depressed circle, I usually in silence.
Economics is so inutterbly, ineffably boring. I am always falling asleep in that class.
I really don't want to read Chapter 8, in other words.
What the heck constitutes a util? They have numbers.
Fall play was crazy today. Nobody could keep on track, but it was fun.
I wore my Harry Potter scarf and therefore got to talk Harry Potter with some people today.

Date: 2004-09-30 04:48 am (UTC)A lot of people just think I'm crazy about Memorial. So if I did the scarf of the House I really would belong to, like Ravenclaw, I'd actually be closer to my actually school . . . but then no one would recognize it.
Actually, I'd love to make myself a scarf of all four of the Hogwarts houses.
You know, if I had time . . . I already have two other people that want scarves before Christmas ^_^

folke. Some may describe you as cold and distant, and you are honest with how you feel about things.
Yeah. that was what the "eye" quiz thingy on Tiff's journal told me. hmm...
