Surveys Yoinked From Julia )

I got to sleep in while everyone else went to school or to work.

. . . though I only slept in until about 8:00, lol . . .

Jessica came over for about 2 hours, from about 10:00 am to noon. Before she came I managed to practice my violin and empty the dishwasher. We basically only had time to watch the Reader's Digest version of The Curious Savage, and she tried some miso soup, which she didn't really like, and I tried to conquer her smart ball, which I ALMOST did (I said "kudu," which is a type of obscure deer-like animal in the Serengeti, and it said "gazelle" . . . so . . . right . . . ). I also showed her how I found the ideal Sirius Black (young version) look-alike: Ben Jelen, a musician, who, when we listened to some file that opened when looking at sites with pictures of him on it, Jessica instantly fell in love with, lol . . . Well, he DOES look like Sirius, and he sings very well, AND he plays the violin. I think she has found her soulmate. Lol . . . she owes me ^_^

Now, I have some time to just do whatever . . . I wish she wouldn't have had to have left so early.

I could write my story, but I'm feeling awkward about doing it here, because it would just be little pieces of it, which I'd have to ship around anyway to try to place in the right spaces once I get up to the lake where it's all saved.

I could also attempt the impossible and start organizing my room. Wow . . .

*Enjoys life, hopefully avoiding the prospect of cleaning one's room* . . .

So . . . guess what I spent the afternoon (the past three hours-- completely straight) doing?

I cleaned up my room.

It is not even close to done yet.

You see, my process involves many steps:
1) Clean out bins for storing things, presently filled with stuff that does not necessarily need to be saved.
2) Designate bins for certain types of storage (and possibly-- or, in my case, probably-- buy new bins if there aren't enough to fill the amount of stuff I need to save . . . ).
3) Start sorting out massive piles of stuff, previously in bins, and also in my closet, under the bed, in my desk, on my desk, and on the floor, into the bins, according to type of stuff.
4) Probably vacuum and all that good stuff, too.
5) Start taking down decorations and things so that the room is less of "my room" and more of a "guest room" (sad day . . . *cries* )-:).
6) Store these decorations somewhere (heh . . . this is where those previously mentioned new bins begin to come into play, lol . . . ).
7) Argue with my parents about where the bins will be kept until I buy my own house. I would just like to keep them under the bed, honestly. They're BINS. It's not like anyone staying in my room is even going to check under there.

I have completed Step 1 and part of Step 2 (no new bins yet), and have begun working on Step 2. Unfortunately, my room now looks messier than when I started, with all these open bins out all over the room, instead of under my bed where they were previously, and little piles sorted out to go into them. Oh well; it's not like I even ever have people IN my room.

My hurts from sitting on it on my floor, and grinding it into something like a folder or something. I am also dead exhausted. That really gave me a headache, all that sorting, and I'm sure you're probably all thinking that I'm crazy, for 1) having all that stuff to build up for so long (after all, it's 18 years of stuff in my room, really, lol . . . I am a packrat, and I cannot helpt that, at all . . . ), and 2) being so hard-pressed to do it all. It's draning. I'm so serious. YOU try it, lol . . . if the stuff means so much to you, and you agonize over it, and you have to pick through every little thing so meticulously, it's HARD, okay???

I was quite accomplished today, really, and it's not even over or anything. Tory and Neil should be home soon. I really hope Mom doesn't complain about anything today, or demand for me to do certain things. I did an awful lot, including things for her, like the dishwasher and stuff. This room deal is seriously the Augean Stables of room deals . . . only I don't want to just run a river through it . . . I deserve a reward or something, lol . . .

Leave me alone if you think I sound pathetic. I'd like to see YOU clean this thing up.
