I SHOULD be studying my Physics.

Yet here I am. I had a good day today. Aside from the fact that they cancelled Stat. Somebody please go raise Hell about it, please. Otherwise, I will just not take math. If the schools I want don't take me, they can just not take me. I'll go elsewhere. I'm pretty confident at least a few of them will anyway, whether I take a math class course this year or not. I am just NOT taking Calculus. I do not need it. I do not need to suffer through all of that. Even Mom says so. She says she won't expose me to that (or the family to me when I'm exposed to that, lol), so it's bye-bye Math if there's no Stat.

Wow, that feels really great. No more math. NO MORE.

I am such a quitter (-:

I do like Calculus in the concepts . . . I mean, it's cool, some of the things I can learn . . . I love the concepts of black holes and atomic physics and such . . . I just don't want to do all the calculations.

Let's just revert to the Dark Ages and say, "God made it. It is beautiful. It astounds me."

Appreciate it, and be done with it.

My friend and I were talking about the String Theory and the Mother of All Theories, and we think maybe it SHOULD be impossible to figure it out. If we did . . . we would have solved God. We would have become Him. That can't be right.

Also . . . you've seen what happens when you put great knowledge and power in the hands of humans. We unlock the secret of the atom and the Strong Force, and we get atom bombs going off everywhere. Imagine what you could do if you had that power . . . the power of EVERYTHING.

I like to think that the human race is not that destructive, but still . . .

The human race is going to go one of two ways. We either shall die at our own hands, blowing ourselves up, or we shall be conquered by nature. Either way, we lose. We either fall at the hands of our stupidity, or as weaklings to the awesomeness of nature.

Whoa, this whole conversation (lol, conversation . . . with myself) is really out of character for me.

I guess it's just because I don't like math.

We had the meeting for Shakescenes today . . . the first one. We're also meeting at 8:00 am on Monday morning. 8:00 am. Yes. We're doing Midsummer Night's Dream. YES!!! I so want to be Helena again. Perhaps Titania. Perhaps Hermia. Not a fairy. Please, please, not a fairy.

Our school won the All-Music award for the second year in a row. One of two schools. Last year we were one of three. We were the only school to get it twice in a row. Whoopee! Only I didn't even enjoy my cake; I was too busy spazzing about the cancelled Stat class.

I like Loreena McKennitt.

I am so excited about Harry Potter.

I am so not excited about exams.

Funny things happen when I am bored. Funny things relating to Harry Potter. Like the Black family tree I made up on the plane ride back from England, everything exactly right, spanning back 5 generations and across 17 branches of the family (I had to make up a lot of things, obviously; but I managed to connect everything she DOES say in the right places . . . ). Also, weird songs.

The good ones I have for today are all related to Sirius Black.

To the tune of "The Ballad of Billy the Kid"

From a manor house in high class wizard London
Came a boy with a wand clenched in his hand.
And what people thought was his crime
Made him a legend in his time,
East and west of wizarding England.

He befriended werewolves when he was a boy at Hogwarts
And with his teachers he was always cut some slack.
For his stunning sullen style
And his mischeivous smile
He got a reputation, Sirius Black.

Well, he was an Animagi
And his motorbike could fly.
And though he came off as a loner, he had many friends.
But he never had a sweetheart,
And he was shunned by his family,
But he never was disloyal to his friends.

Well, his loyalty wasn't fully recognized.
He was locked up for a crime he hadn't done.
But as a dog, and innocent
He followed his best friend's scent
And returned, escaped, to protect his old friend's son.

Well, one day Black was in the rough again.
His godson met up with a cousin Black.
And his own betrayed kin
Fought with him once again
And that was the end of Sirius Black.

Well, he was an Animagi
And his motorbike could fly.
And though he came off as a loner, he had many friends.
But he never had a sweetheart,
And he was shunned by his family,
But he never was disloyal to his friends.

To the tune of "The House of the Rising Sun"

There is a house in Grimmauld Place
In which live the "Toujours Pur,"
And though in ruins, it remains to me
A reminder of the way the old times were.

The only thing I was ever taught
Was that blood was only good pure.
I didn't believe a word of it;
I wasn't meant to be "Toujours Pur."

I resisted heartily
But my brother did not do the same.
So it was I who was the failure;
The stain on the family name.

My mother did disown me
But leaving was my choice.
I couldn't stay a minute more
In that place where I had no voice.

If I had listened to what mother said,
I'd have turned out evil, I say.
Thank Merlin I got out of there;
I'm free and on my way.

Oh my brother, oh my cousins:
Of my mother, don't listen to her!
She'll only bring you misery
In the House of Toujours Pur.

Now, times they are a-changin';
The dark ways have come back.
Ironically, the Order's base
Is in the Noble House of Black.

Going back to Grimmauld Place;
Things feel as the way they were.
I'm stuck back here in my old Hell:
The House of Toujours Pur.
