Fun Day and Awesome Parodies

tabular_rasaAww, too bad I didn't think to put my pictures from today up on Photobucket . . . we had some fun times, today, lol . . . Alice and Robert came up, and we went tubing (Alice was so light compared to me; the tube was so wobbly! Lol . . . ), and had virgin strawberry daiquiris (not Tory's recipe, though; just a mix . . . they were still good, though, lol . . . ), and swam around because it was just so hot. I found a ball in the lake; I saved it, lol . . . and I nearly drowned, I tired myself out so badly, lol . . .
Anyway, fun times . . .
Random thought: I like haiku. I like that they're brief, and I never can be . . . I appreciate their concise-ness. It's almost jealousy, mostly just . . . appreciation. I dunno . . . just a thought.
I gave Neil and his friend Calvin OWLs yesterday and today. I also Sorted them (and online, so it's not even biased, lol . . . ). Calvin was in Ravenclaw (like everyone else, lol . . . ), but Neil was in Slytherin. Go figure . . .
Tiffany's in Canada and Jessica's been eaten by Meijer, apparently . . . lol, I start to worry when she hasn't updated within like a week . . .
I just got this email from the person who runs the parody site. The italics represent what I wrote, that she cited in her (I think it's a her; I'm quite certain, lol . . . ):
I have one non-musical number; I just came up with this off the top of my head today . . . I think it's (yet another) solo. ((This was in reference to my "Incomplete" parody, lol . . . ))
Yes it is! I 'm going to update the solo page in the next day or so - in addition to your solo for Merope Riddle, we now have solos for McLaggan and Slughorn (both by first-time contributors).
It amused me how easily it came . . . particularly since this is such a dramatic song.

Great song, I especially liked these lines:

THE LES MAGICIENS SONGS:
Your Les Mag songs are awesome! Each one is excellent, but with the really dramatic scenes, like Dumbledore's death, you've really outdone yourself. I was deeply moved when you had the spirits of James and Lily join with Dumbledore. And it's so amazing that you're writing these so soon after the book's release.
Here's what the other HP-musical enthusiasts are up to: RJ Lupin is planning on using Wicked for her HBP musical (she has two filks already written), Salazar hasn't decided, but he may try Miss Saigon or Phantom of the Opera, and I'm going to probably go with Sondheim's A Little Night Music (as A Riddle Night Music). I haven't figured out how to use all the songs as yet, but I'm making progress.
Look forward to seeing more of Les Mag soon!
