This computer is even more crap than usual.

(Meet the lake computer: Windows 98, uses AOL 5, dialup, on a cord that interchanges with our actual phone line, so we can only be using the Internet, or the phone-- and no cell phones work up here, since it's far away and down a hill and . . . far away . . . so, yeah . . . )

(How quickly I become accostumed to technology :-P I am entirely too much a child of the millennium . . . )

So, anyway:

IMPORTANT NOTICE: I CAN'T USE OR EVEN SEE AWAY MESSAGES ON THIS DARN THING, SO IF ANY OF Y'ALL EVER WANT TO TALK TO ME, EVER (AND PLEASE OH PLEASE OH PLEASE GOD DO) PLEASE JUST IM ME, BECAUSE I SURE AS HELL WON'T BE ABLE TO TELL IF I CAN IM YOU!!!

Tiffany arrived on Thursday night but didn't show up until late. We've hung out quite a bit just the two of us, and yesterday we met up with Jamie and Jessica (and her brother and like eight-- all guy-- friends, for, clearly, apparently, where Jessica goes, many men follow :-P) and watched X-Men 3. I've been Walmart too many times (and all unsuccessfully :-P) lately, and have even been to a fabric/knitting/sewing/crafting specialty shop, lol . . .

I also got the 1968 version (the Zefferelli one, with Olivia Hussey and Leonard Whiting) of Romeo and Juliet on DVD from Tiffany for my birthday, too (woot! Yea! Thanks, Tiffany! Lol . . . ), as I had guessed, lol :-P I watched it on Friday, and had lots of fun, lol . . . Ahh, I love Romeo and Juliet. The 1968 one's not perfect, either, but I think it's better than the 1996 one-- I've got nothing particularly against a Romeo and Juliet set in another time period (though I do like to have a good staple that's the basic storyline, thank you, lol . . . :-P), but I think there were so much better situations they could have set it up in, and some of the interpretation (and even filmography-- I liked Moulin Rogue, but R+J didn't seem to go quite as well) just seemed . . . not right. Ahh well. I am picky-- picky, picky, picky. I do that about things I love. I mean, I'd rather watch any version of Romeo and Juliet than practically any other movie, because, just, well, it is Romeo and Juliet. It's like in a totally different class, lol . . .

My mom was watching part of it with me, though, and she was like "Aww, Juliet looks so Amy-like, lol . . . She does look a bit like me . . . prettier, certainly, but the same coloring, about, and basic features, lol . . . much huskier voice though, lol . . .

(Funny thought, too: "There's a Time for Us," the like love/death theme of the Romeo and Juliet movie, starts off the exact same way and follows for three whole phrases-- it just doesn't resolve in the last phrase the same way-- as "Come to Me" and "The Finale"-- and that whole theme strain-- of Les Miserables . . . so I kept throughout the whole time of the movie being like "COSETTE IT'S TURNED SO COLD! COSETTE, IT'S PAST YOUR BEDTIME! YOU'VE PLAYED THE DAY AWAY, AND-- OH WRONG PHRASE NOW, NEVERMIND . . . " Lol . . .

Anyway, from this afternoon onward, I have been at the lake, as Tiffany spends the night at Jessica's, instead. Today was freaking hot, so, after sunbathing for a little bit and helping Chris (my neighbor, a year older than me) put his battery-dead boat to some seaworthily safe docking position-- beached in the sand, lol-- (and having my parents tease me about how much I looked like a Victoria's Secret model, "posing" on top of the boat, they said )-: grr . . . ), I went out on the jetski with Tory and then again by myself and had fun with that whole fast, liberating feeling I've come to love ^_^ I took a boat ride with Mom and Dad and Tory on the Moomba (the speedboat), too, of course-- and then we had hamburgers on the grill to welcome the (long-time-coming!) summer, of course ^_^ All in all, it was a very good, summery day-- even though it didn't start out very well with me worrying about what to do with Tiffany and where I was supposed to be with the straddling of the line between friends and family-- which I am no longer used to straddling (particularly in the fashion I used to, with friends completely as like practically no priority next to my family )-:), anymore, thanks to college, lol . . .
