What Are the Odds?
Jan. 31st, 2005 09:25 pmThis is so crazy.
I just got a call from Concordia College. The girl called, said she was from the college, and said that Concordia had noted I had attended one of their language villages. I said yes, I had, I was at Mori no Ike. She was like, "Really? Me too! What year did you go?" and I told her that I went the summer of 2001, and that I also did the Credit Abroad program once. She said that she did it, too, "not this past summer, but the one before."
It was then that I recognized her voice. I paused . . . I was like, "I think I know who you are . . . you were on my trip!"
Then she got it, too. "Do you have different colored hair?" she asked.
"No, that was Kaylene," I said. "Um . . . this will make it official: Are you obsessed with Michael Jackson?"
It was Alicia from my Japan trip! I haven't talked to her since the summer after we came back! THIS IS SO CRAZY!!!
So the rest of the had-to-be-official conversation was littered with happy reminscings . . . she's enrolled at Concordia now, working in the recruiting office. She says she likes it a lot. Concordia probably would fit me, too-- but I think it's too late (for me, at least-- though the application isn't due yet-- I just would feel too rushed and I've never visited it).
Still, that was so awesome! What are the odds?
I knew we Japan trip people were bound together by Fate!
