I wrote a really long and sensitive entry last night, that was perfect and consummate and almost made me cry, only to have the computer turn dead straight off as I was pressing "Update Journal."

Perhaps it was divine intervention, because I then went upstairs and wrote out a sensitive bit in my story in my Creative Writing journal, which I still can't help but update, even though we don't have to over the holidays (I guess I just won't have to write an entry for about a month after we get back, at least not if I don't want to).

We had dinner with the Balls last night, and the Fritzes for lunch. I think both families now think Tory is crazy. Adam kept impersonating Gollum and flashing his boxers at Neil to get him to shut up about his pie business (because he'd get all embarrassed), so I guess he really can't talk.

I had a weird dream last night that I was taking a shower in some old safehouse/orphanage-y thingy (it was a very long, involved dream, involving me being a servant in some Victorian middle-class family, and then running off to this safehouse, which for some reason was much more in the present than the rest of the world), and for some reason George Bush was there and walked in on me because none of the doors had locks. So I freaked out even though the curtain was shut, because it's not so fun to have the President you're not so fond of anyway walk in on you when you're trying to bathe in a cold middle-class Victorian home. Then I woke up and was quite happy that hadn't actually happened.

I really need to stop getting sick, and get over this cold, and stop having weird, delirious dreams. Last night it was about living in a totalitarian state in Eastern Europe, and there were lots of little white buildings, and white-dusted sidewalks, and I was looking for Papa and Jana's house, for they lived there, for some reason, but, apparently, when you stood on white ground, it was illegal to yell in public. So then I got lost and couldn't yell for help because I was standing on white ground all around.

Better than being walked in showering in media res by the President of the United States, but, still, rather irksome.

I finished The Poisonwood Bible last night. It may be Book Talk material. Now I have to go find something else to read . . . namely, three other novels. I think I may reuse Demien again, because that was an awesome book, and I want to reread it anyway. Maybe I'll plow through Heart of Darkness, though it drove me crazy, and that's entirely too many books about Africa for such a short time period, lol . . . and maybe I'll use "Welcome to the World, Baby Girl!" because I like that even though it isn't famous, or "1984" like everyone else, and "Brave New World" like everyone else, and perhaps "Catch-22," or, ooh, is "Fail-Safe" considered "a novel of recognizable literary merit?" I'd like to do The Da Vinci Code, like I asked her, and it would be awesome to do Harry Potter, and, if anyone should do it, it should be me ^_^

I have to go get people presents. Ta-ta for now!
