Dratted Puritanical society!!!

Since when do we as a state recognize the Sabbath and not plan stuff on it??? Stupid Puritanically-rooted society. I thought we separated church and state, confound it.

Halloween trick-or-treating is on Saturday. Because, ooh, Heaven forbid (*cough* I mean, The Great [And, Might I Add, Perfectly Mortal and Not God . . . ish] Crusader Who Dubs Ye Olde Times Of Hallow's Eve--who does decide the Halloween times, anyway?-- forbids) we do ANYTHING on the Day of God (which, I might add, is only the Day of God for about half the population at this point. Plenty of people have it on Saturday, and the Muslims have it on Friday, and they don't even get the day off!). Even the LIBRARIES are open on Sundays now, for goodness's sake!!! Plus, if we did it the old way, sunset on Saturday is traditional Sabbath anyway. GrgrGRgrgr . . .

Aside from the fact that I am morally/politically outraged, I do have a point.

That means I won't even be back home for PART of it . . . I'll be in a freaking hotel room in the middle of Pennsylvania or something. You know, it could have at least have been something nice like a college overnight where I could at least hang out with Halloween-interested college kids, or something . . . but no, it's going to be Mom (Dad?) and I in some random hotel with a bunch of hokey Halloween decorations and no candy, except maybe in the front office if the lobbiests are feeling spirited, and some stupid greedy children don't come and take it all first. I can sit on the freaking bed and wear a cloak and have Mom come in and sniff at me occasionally. Wow. What a grandio-magnificent Halloween. Maybe I'll even go to bed early and ignore the little voices of children outside as I resist the urge to kill them.

Maybe I should dress up like Lady Macbeth. *Snort.*

Okay, so I still have REAL Halloween. Yet I don't get invited to Halloween parties. I don't DO things. Unless I got together randomly with some people semi-late ("on a school night," and after a "long weekend"-- we can see right there where this is going to go with my mom), I have nothing to look forward to on Halloween. Nothing.

Stupid college that I'm not even going to yet.

Okay, I realize there were probably a million ways in there in which I could have offended someone. I'm sorry. Erm . . . "If we shadows have offended, think but this, and all is mended: That you have but slumber'd here, while (as?) these visions did appear . . . Now, give us (me?) thy hands, if we be friends, and Robin shall restore amends!" -Puck (yeah, yeah, we all know . . . )

You know, they're probably just doing it because it's a school night. Yet that never stopped them before. I still sense a strong scent of the Religious Right. Then again . . . maybe I'm just paranoid. That National Christian Party's campaign of 1948 is freaking me out . . . I think it haunts my subconcious dreams. I've nothing against Christians, obviously (*Beats on self* "I hate you!!! GAA!!!" Lol) . . . just when they try too hard to inflict Christian-ness on everybody else . . .

I'm tired and drugged-up and sick. Leave me alone. I'm also denied my last Halloween.
