1. I have little doubt that Professor Snape is ultimately a good character, despite any flaws he might have. 10 (um, how do you say, "I FEEL THIS WAY ABOUT EVERYBODY"??? Yes, even Voldemort, lol . . .
2. I was disappointed with the discrepancies between the film and book of Prisoner of Azkaban, despite any relative merits it might have as a work of cinema. 7, I prefer canon to cinematographic masterspieces, but, then again, you can never make a movie PERFECTLY like a book. That is why books are awesome!
3. I believe that Ron and Hermione will have a reciprocal romantic relationship by the end of the series. 9, um, duh?
4. I have a lot of sympathy for Draco Malfoy as a character. 8, because I'm a sap, and I believe in the goodness of all mankind, and it's not HIS fault his dad's a freaking wizard-Nazi psycho and probably would kill him if he resisted . . . but, you know, it would be nice if that nice side I know he has in there would come OUT every once and a while . . . lol . . .
5. I read and/or write a lot of HP fan-fiction. 6, I make predictions about what happened in the Marauder age and the space between, and fill in some gaps in the Black family and stuff-- stuff which actually involves more research, lol . . . I don't do slash and excessive sex, and I don't make predictions about the books that almost definitely won't come true . . .
6. I read a lot of critical essays on the HP series. 5, I own "Harry Potter and Philosophy and like to bash on people who criticize Harry Potter, and read just about every TIME article on them, lol, but other than that . . . I like to stick to my own thoughts about them . . .
7. I am easily frustrated by people who ignore facts stated in canon (i.e. the books, JK Rowling’s website, things she’s said in interviews). 10!!! I am a canon whore!!! Sirius is DEAD, he never LOVED Remus, and DRACO, GINNY, AND HARRY ARE NOT IN A THREESOME!!! The only thing I like to be anti-canon about is that Sirius has brown eyes, not grey. Also, if Andromeda turns out to not be like how I picture her, I will revolt and be AU on that, too . . .
8. I find Harry himself a relatively unappealing character compared to others in the series. 8, I think he's understandably so, but when people ask me how I can like the series with such an annoying character as Harry, I tell them he's not my favorite character-- because he isn't.
9. I enjoy reading a lot of books and/or watching a lot of films in the sci-fi and fantasy genres. 3, actually, no. It's very bizarre. I was very into it as a kid, but now I'm a total history geek, and prefer historical fiction and classics and such-- realist stuff. It's odd. This would explain my bizarre-ish takes on Harry Potter (though she did base a lot on history-- and the occult history, most of it, "her" world is really a hodgepodge of old legend and such-- you have to admit).
10. I had a poor opinion of the series before reading them. 1, I had never heard of them before reading them. I was the first person I know to have read them, and then I went out and spread the Word of the Good News of Harry Potter! Lol . . . I totally am way too obsessed with those books, lol . . . So I show up and the book's on my bed, and I think, "Okay, right. I'll read this," and then Mom's like, "No! I want to read it out loud!" and so then she did, every night, for several days . . . and so begannith the unhealthy addiction of the Troeger family with the Harry Potter books . . .

*shrug* Okay . . .
I have to write a screenplay for Creative Writing class. I figured I'd either do my book, or Harry Potter, because you can use already-used characters, even though it's plagiarism. However, Brock, my "fiance" Ambrose in the musical (the kid Joey wants to disembowel and refers to as "fagmuffin"-- also the one who repeatedly asks me what part Tiffany got in the musical), is writing a parody to Harry Potter. It sucks. I read it. In a way, it could be good, because it goes on about Ron getting a sex change and then Harry impregnating Hermione, which, well, sounds an awful lot like the kind of stuff you would find on Fanfiction.net, so if one did it properly, it could be really, really funny.
People who satire Harry Potter rarely get it right; you have to WORK with what's already out there, lol . . . like the director in the third movie. He had fun messing with Ron/Hermione, Harry/Hermione, and even Remus/Sirius ships, you could tell (Hermione's hand action, "arguing like an old married couple," lol . . . ). Most people are just stupid.
So, I threatened to beat him with my parasol if he made it REALLY stupid. I also recommended he go to Fanfiction.net and do a search under Harry Potter for "slash." I told him that would give him all he needs to know.
I'm interested in seeing how this will turn out . . .
Anyway, lol ^_^ I think I will do my own book. I'm just worried that the scenes I've chosen (I'm still trying to decide between two) contain untimely racist characters or what borders on domestic violence. Also, they would be just plain silly to act out. They have to be 20 minutes long; otherwise, I would just write two, one my story and one Harry Potter, and get Jessica and Tiffany and Jamie and myself to act the latter out on tape to turn in for extra credit, since we can do that, and, well, I rather want to.
