I find it ridiculous that Lisa completed this entire year without having written a single paper more than one page long! I wrote over twenty papers, each at least two pages-- as many as seven per single class!

This doesn't really bother me, of course-- I like writing papers; in fact, I prefer them over nearly every other form of workload there is. Essay tests are the next best thing, but I am not so hot with multiple-choice (and especially true-false!) tests, short-answer tests turn into essay tests, for me, and God forbid I ever have to do any straight up math homework or fucking WeBWorK, lol . . .

Yet that's astounding that she's never even had to write a single one! Even engineers have to write papers, Lisa (as you have so tragically had to find out O.o)-- maybe they should have made Writing I a requirement for engineers, too . . . O.o . . .

God I miss school. Though I do need to write this book. I am conflicted between wanting this summer to hurry the hell up or stop the freak short in its tracks, lol . . .

(Why does the "Song of the Volga Boat Men" come to mind when I think of engineers? O.o . . . )

(Also, how can one entry on one stupid thing be so freaking long? I prove my point about essay-tests and writing papers, above!)

Okay, this is really annoying/ironic that you will understand.

Horoscope for Today:

As much as you'd like to sink deeply into your feelings today, it makes more sense to focus your attention outward and make the most of what's around you. Sure, there are more serious concerns that won't go away, but they won't be fixed today. In the meantime, enjoying yourself is healthier for your soul than trying to resolve a long-term dilemma.

...

And btw, if yo uget your own homepagethingy with google YOU CAN PLAY PAC MAN!!!!!!!!!!!! ITS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's not only the paper (although that is a large portion) causing my distress, but that on top of work in general. I'll update you on how far I get today. *grumbles*

And I'm also self-concious about my writing. My advisor is going to read it; and I want to possibly get a recommendation out of him in the future . . . what if it sucks? I hate feeling like a failure--that is my biggest fear, you know.

Obviously it's not your fault you've not had to write more papers. This is probably why you should have-- there are still papers to be written in the Engineering circle, and the only way to get comfortable/good at writing them is to . . . write them.

So writing a paper at the same time as other loads of work is not a good thing.

You may have to be repeatedly obnoxious and just keep asking if you're doing things right. I can help you a little bit, if you like, but I don't know if an engineering report is anything much like an essay in structure and such, so I might not be that much help. Besides, it's not as hard as it sounds once you get going; you'll have things to say (and just meat it up like I do in my journal entries :-P).
