Waterfront, central heat, no bugs/vermin, good internet, disaster-proof.
In other news, the actor who played Remus Lupin revealed that JKR told him his character is an "ex-gay", as in he was initially gay and then "changed over the years" in time to fall in love with Tonks. I'm not exactly sure why he had to "convert" to straight and can't just, you know, be bisexual-- like countless of other bisexuals who have same-sex desires/relationships but ultimately end up in a traditional heterosexual marriage-- but alrighty then!
Having RPed (and t-shirt represented?) Remus but not really in a shipping context I'm neither vindicated nor upset over the news itself (plus bisexuality is pretty convenient for shipping, lol, so I'm not sure who would even be complaining), though I think I will take the possibility of canon Remus/Sirius more seriously (siriusly? :-P) now. Of course, we still can't necessarily deduce a relationship with Sirius from this alone, since we still don't know much about Sirius's sexuality-- except that he wasn't so repulsed by women as to prevent plastering the walls of his room with posters of them scantily-clad, lol-- and even two friends of compatible sexualities are not necessarily going to date . . . but if she went out of her way to say that Remus had former same-sex attractions I feel like she was intentionally putting the possibility out there.
What I am irritated about is it took so long for the news to come out. I kind of wish she would have thrown this bone to the Sirius/Remus shippers when they were about to pull a Misery over the whole Tonks thing-- or, you know, a decade ago when she told David Thewlis. As a writer I understand having much more about your characters planned out than you ever need to bother putting in the books, but I feel like if it ever needed to be said, it should have been said earlier, back when the fandom was actually heatedly (and yes, I mean heatedly) discussing this possibility. Maybe I'm blinded by my own insane fangirl status, but surely JRK wasn't blind to Remus/Sirius as one of the most notorious HP ships? I would say it's just her trying to keep some fame alive as the fandom activity has died down since the last book, but this was revealed by the actor, so I don't know what the deal is. Considering she also told Dumbledore's actor that he was gay way back when, I'm half-tempted to think maybe she just went around telling everyone their characters are secretly gay, lol.
Edit (10:37 pm): Also, does anyone know why LJ is being kind of a bitch lately? I couldn't even get it to load for like a day recently, and now I'm trying to upload another icon and while it let me delete the old one, it won't let me load one to replace it with /-:
