In other news, I have something lodged in my throat-- phlegm or something-- that is making me cough a lot. I'm chalking it up to the wet weather (it's been raining for about two days straight now) and the fact my bedclothes and everything are just clammy and nasty, but I worry that after months of escaping both swine flu (in spite of Japan's best attempts to give it to me-- thank you, mask-induced false sense of security) and the usual perma-cold I get even in the States, I might be succumbing to something /-: I really wish there were an effective way to de-humidify my house. I'm so jealous of people in dry climates; it seems like it's so much easier to put moisture into the air than take it out, and you can use a cute penguin humidifier to do so. But maybe it's just a grass-is-greener thing and the grass wouldn't seem so green (metaphorically and literally) if I went through regular water restrictions due to drought and stuff.

I hope I can figure out a way to watch the Olympic opening ceremonies tomorrow. The Winter Olympics are so underrated; frankly, I think I like to watch more sports in the winter version than I do in the summer: figure skating and ice dancing, speed skating, ski jump, luge, bobsled . . . I'm excited! I just don't know when stuff will be airing on Japanese television networks (since we're 16 hours off of Vancouver time-- and I can't find a freaking schedule for Japanese TV anywhere!) and I'm not sure what's available on American station live feeds online and what I'll have to wait to see clips of later.

This is old, but this would be one reason why if you're not watching figure skating, you are missing out:

Tory sent that to me the other day; I hadn't seen it before. HILARIOUS.

And even when it's not hilarious, it's pretty.
