Typhoon Melor

You'll have to excuse my excitement, I've never been in a typhoon before-- nor a hurricane or a cyclone. Just tornadic storms. Neither has Robert, and we're both big storm geeks, so this is (mildly) exciting.
So far it's just a lot of wind, though there were some cool clouds before it got dark. It got really cold the last couple of days, I imagine because of the storm. I don't have storm shutters, but I'm also in an alley and a few miles inland (plus I'm on the opposite coast from where it is coming from). It hasn't even starting raining yet, but my trip to my island school got cancelled so I'm going to the school next door tomorrow.
Edit (8:19): So the TV I have on for typhoon updates just said something about Natsume Soseki (the author whose book I wrote my thesis on), but upon looking over all they're doing is feeling the difference in softness between a white and an orange towel, and I can't figure out where the hell is the connection.
