Meteor Shower!

Go outside, preferrably someplace wide-open and not near too much light (sorry, big city folk )-:), and face generally North. Better yet, lie flat on your back with the entire sky to your view. Wait.
If you invest at least twenty minutes or so, you should see some shooting stars-- even now, though peak is reputably at about 2:00 am.
Tory and I were just outside for about a half-hour, and we saw about five viable ones, plus a few faint flashes in our peripheral vision that may have been smaller ones.
We talked about the possibility of 2012 apocalypse and made ourselves feel rather sober. Then again, just about anything seems suddenly much more sobering under the silent, wide open night sky, I think.
