So, that storm I mentioned last night?
Everything's in working order right now (well, in our room-- Keith, Henry, and Anu are still sans Internet), but I'm fairly certain Shepley got hit by lightning. There was a lot of cloud-to-ground lightning and loud thunder close by, and pouring rain-- and at one point the lights even flickered, though not enough to disconnect from power or upset computers, etc . . . Then, there was a simultaneous boom and a bright flash-- and then all the sirens on the front doors (the ones that go off when they've been open too long) went off simultaneously, and stayed on for about a minute. I thought I saw sparks fly out from one of our appliances (the microwave or the toaster, etc-- all of which work today, thankfully). I was on IM at the time (ironically advising Peter to exercise caution in holding Improv practice that evening), and everything froze for a moment, and then the Internet stopped working. The power never did go out, actually, though. Keith's speakers on his laptop blews out, though )-:

Tomorrow I have an exam, and then a two-hour gap and then two hours of Japanese. I may find it necessary to go back to the dorms and nap during the gap. This is an unfortunate schedule, but I have to take the exam in the morning, clearly, and I can't really afford to miss anymore Japanese class /-:
