The Weekend
Aug. 15th, 2006 12:15 pmIt's Facebook!Regulus's birthday, because I wanted to make him a Leo, and, well, the 15th is a good day of the month to be born on. Ides. Woot.
It has definitely been a busy and fun weekend. Lisa got up on skis and crossed the right wake one way, and we double-skiied, which was awesome and fun and produced some great pictures. There was lots of partying and cake, too, for Tory's THREE birthday parties. We tubed when Tory's birthday guests were here. The waverunner, which had broken (and has sort of been being broken all summer, grr, on and off . . . ) was fixed and un-broken in time for her to ride it, at least once. We also sailed in both the sunfish and the MC (we might have rigged the Hobie Cat-- there was enough wind, but we decided to just do the much more easily-rigged MC).
Yesterday, with Nichole and Kristina, we went and had lunch at the Blue Gate, so we could drive by all the Amish settlements around there, and then we wandered around some antique stores. We tried to go to Menno-Hof, too, but it was too late in the day to do it.
We watched two movies while she was here-- the Franco Zeffirelli Romeo and Juliet (which reminds me-- the Renaissance Faire I'm hopefully going to, in the dress which reminds me of Juliet's dress in that, is just coming up this Sunday!), and V for Vendetta (I've now watched it about eight times since I've brought it home, lol, and this was only Lisa's second time . . . ).
So, yeah, Keith, Patricia, and Henry, you missed a good time!
Lisa just left at about 6:10 am, this morning. We had to wake up at about 4:00 am, though, to get to the airport on time-- and, even then, Lisa missed the chance to check her baggage and had to check it at the gate (which is actually easier and I would actually rather do-- they just prefer you don't, because everybody can't do that, lol . . . ). It was really misty and foggy coming back-- all the corn fields looked like Scottish moors, or something. It was crazy.
Neil and Tory go back to school tomorrow. We're pretty much "moving back in to town" today.

Edit (12:56): I have the worst luck with fortunes and horoscopes. I just ate a fortune cookie and check out what I got:
what you have.

It was two halves of two different fortunes. Random. Plus, it's totally wrong about the four :-P
