I was in a very Romeo and Juliet mood today. I showed Michellanne my Romeo and Juliet-related drawings (which I will soon-- it takes a while!-- post on Deviantart for your viewing pleasure ^_^) that I did back in 9th grade, when I first got into that crazy phase ^_^
Then I listened to my Romeo and Juliet soundtrack all day, which, well, basically consists of every Romeo and Juliet soundtrack ever: The Tchaikovsky suite, the Prokofiev ballet, the 1968 movie theme, the 1996 movie soundtrack (well, the instrumental portion of the movie soundtrack, anyway . . . ), the "Juliet Suite" of Evanescence songs I have selected (So Close, Anywhere, Before The Dawn, Whisper-- and Whisper 2002, of course! The geniusness!--and Even in Death), and a few others that remind me of the storyline ("Save Tonight," by Eagle Eye Cherry, "I'd Die For You"-- which mentions Romeo and Juliet-- by Bon Jovi, etc . . . ).
Then, at dinner, I was discussing how I wanted to watch the 1996 Romeo and Juliet movie (the only one I have . . . *have* . . . as it is Tiffany's and I have yet to return it O.o)-- as opposed to the 1968 version (which has Olivia Hussey and Leonard Whiting in it), which I do not have. Keith then told us (well, repeated, but I don't mind this, seeing as how I do it all the time, myself, lol . . . ) that they watched the Jesus of Nazareth movie that Olivia Hussey was in, as Mary, as well, and that one of their teachers told them, "If you thought Mary was hot, then you can watch her be naked in this version of Romeo and Juliet!" So that's disturbing, but, lol . . .
. . . and, then, I was roleplaying quite happily with my
Andromeda Black journal at my roleplay
Hoggiewarts, where Olivia Hussey (I mean, the Juliet context of Andromeda Black is quite freaking OBVIOUS, lol . . . and
look how Black family she looks like!), and then I was talking to Tiffany online . . .
. . . and she asks me to guess what my birthday present is. She wants to know a list of DVDs that I have. At first I'm like, "Oh, she's going to buy me a DVD! I should give her a list of DVDs that I want to have!"
( (Which, If Anyone Else Cares, Lol . . . Heh, Heh . . . ) ) . . . but she's like, "No, I already
got it for you, and I just want to see what it is that you have, in case you have it already!" So I listed them-- my few, in my selection, lol, mostly musicals and Shakespearian plays and Japanese (particularly Miyazaki) films, lol-- and she said that I didn't have it yet. So then I starting trying to guess-- and I kept on trying to guess, because she kept on giving me hints, lol :-P So then I guessed what it was.
Romeo and Juliet, the 1969 version! Woot!
. . . and,
no, Tiffany; I promise, I don't mind "ruined surprises," not at all! In fact, my mother used to almost always *ruin* my birthday surprises in order to ensure that I had gotten what I wanted! Lol . . .
Tiffany and I have crazy friendship-connection-- or maybe it's just because this is Romeo and Juliet time of the year . . . you know, four exact years since I read it? Lol . . . (oh, no, four!) . . . no, not Romeo and Juliet
week, Romeo and Juliet time of year! There is a difference! Lol . . .
^_^!
Oh . . . in other news, I took my final Japanese Oral Examination, and turned in my research paper . . . woohoo . . .
. . . and then I spent 2 1/2 hours reading in the library, just sitting in the aisle, plowing through every book they had in the whole library on Japanese American internment camps. Research? Yes. Fun? Also, yes. Informative? Yes.
. . . big hint, there, guys, as to those of you who still haven't figured out what the hell my book (yes, the one that spans for the course of *four* years, grr . . . no wonder I haven't finished it yet! Lol . . . ) is about . . . or, at least, in part, of course . . .
I then slacked off like crazy, because I
needed a break between my stressed-out, super-busy examination times, and my next set of examinations, coming up this coming Thursday, and, then, again, twofold, on next Tuesday. Then it's packing and saying goodbye! NOOOOOOOOO!!!
I went to Center Court with Keith, Lisa, Henry, and Michellanne (and her friend that she brought along, Rosie, I do believe), and then mostly just hung out with Keith and Henry when he wasn't studying. It's a weird time of year-- never sure when people are totally busy, or totally
not busy, like me, at the moment, lol . . .
I think I had a pretty good day, actually ^_^ as usual, I know some other people haven't, so, well, I feel guilty . . . but I did have a pretty good day!
