tabular_rasa: (Fuck!)
So I'm back home again.

After a nice night of good-bye Upwords ("It doesn't say Scrabble on the board!"/"I like Nyquil" . . . uh . . . nevermind, lol . . . ), I went to bed early, only to not sleep, hardly at all (owing, due in part to, I'm sure, my alarm clock-- whenever I set it, I can never wake up, because I lie in wait for it all night long, lol . . . ). Plus Carol wanted to wake up at 6:00 for her 8:00 Chemistry Lab final, too, so she had three people call her in succession at 6:00 in the morning, and, well, there was no sleeping after that, lol . . .

It turned out nearly no one else, slept, either; Keith, who sleeps in past 1:00 on most class-less days, was awake and online when I got on at about 7:30. Patricia was up, too, readying herself for her doctor's appointment. Lisa, the usual early-bird, had to wake up latest! Lol . . .

Anyway, I packed my things and made a suprisingly easy trip to the airport.

That's where the easiness stopped. The flight was supposed to take off at 11:00. It did not fly until 2:00. I did not leave St. Louis until after I was supposed to be in Elkhart/South Bend, already! I was three hours late getting home-- 6:00 instead of 3:00 (or 6:30 instead of 3:30, or whatever it was, if even was a whole number, not like 3:18 and 6:19 1/2, lol . . . silly airport connections . . . ).

Anyway, I made it home, safe and sound, alright, but that was just a little bit annoying, lol . . .

The last flight, in fact, was early, too-- and it was beautiful!!! I was listening to "Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis" (O.o speaking of which, I forgot that music in St. Louis-- but, then again, I didn't bring my violin home, with me, either-- so Jessica will just have to wait until I make her a copy and mail it to her to play it O.o Sorry, Jessica!) as I watched out the windows, and it was all rolling clouds along under the jetstream, and it just fit with the music SO WELL. Then, as the sun was setting, we dipped down below the clouds in our descent for landing, and were blinded by the pure grey fluffiness that was the cotton (erm, steel wool?) of the clouds, for about three whole minutes, and then emerged below into darkness, and a complete scene of beauty with snow and Christmas lights!

Ahh, there's no place like home for the holidays! ^_^
