tabular_rasa: (Wherefore?)
Carol and I woke up at 8:00 am, when her alarm went off. Neither of us needed to wake up then (so I don't know why she set it, lol . . . ), but we still woke up momentarily and I asked her if it was snowing-- because we had known that it was supposed to snow all night due to the weather webstation. However, she frowned disappointedly and said, "No," and went back down to bed.

Two-and-a-half hours later, we both woke up again (well, she woke up, but I had been working for about an hour by that time ^_^ I had a final to study for and a paper to write *stressed out* lol . . . ), and I looked out the window, and I said, "Carol, did you say it wasn't snowing? As in-- there was no snow on the ground?"

"It was only a little tiny bit, like you could see the grass through it," Carol assured me, sadly and disappointedly.

"Well-- it's not like that now!" I pointed out, laughing. We both then looked out to see the blizzard that lay before us.

I am obviously in a narrative-writing mood today, in case that couldn't be told, lol . . . Where was that during NaNoWriMo?

All in all, I am in a good humor ^_^

You see, I have much reason to be happy now:

My Japanese Civilization professor wrote me and assured me that the number I called must have been the right one, and I should go ahead and leave a message anyway-- and then also gave me another person to talk to, who she assured me would be willing and interesting to talk to, who I can reach, initially, BY EMAIL. Yea!

This also means my paper is most assuredly due on Monday. I cannot perform an interview and write up a paper on it in one day's time. This means the vast amounts of stress are, for the most part, off.

Carol and I decorated our room. We are not done yet, because I didn't want to take the time to do my side, seeing as how (I thought) I had a paper to write, all in about one day's time, but her side is lit up with lights, and they're staying up, surprisingly, lol . . . We listened to the good old Bing Crosby Christmas music (my computer RealPlayer playlist has an unhealthy love-affair obsession with the song "Silent Night," which has narration in the midst of it imploring us to listen to the glorious Christmas bells of the winter of 1945, ringing for peace throughout the land, lol . . . ), and got in a pretty good Christmas-cheer mood ^_^

Holiday dinner was a blast. There was such good food, and Christmas music (well, the same recording of "Silent Night" got a little annoying while running through for about the hundredth time successively during one table-sitting-- but the other room did have "Rubber Ducky, You're The One!" playing in it! It's not Christmas, but, hey!), and cookies to decorate, and all-around good cheer. Keith provoked a food fight with one of those edible little metal balls one puts on cookies, managing to get silver foil-like substance all in Carol's drink and eventually knocking over Owen's drink (Owen was in a bad mood . . . he was the Scrooge of the dinner party, I guess . . . but he was okay later . . . I'm not sure what was wrong . . . eh . . . hmm . . . )-- I was surprised we didn't get kicked out or anything. I guess Lorraine turns a blind eye to her favorite, lol . . .

I am in Michellanne's textiles presentation-- because I am pink! Yes-- she had to design three color-schemes for a print, and then actually create them, and the three color-schemes had to fit best for three different skin colorations (ie: Caucasian, Asian, Black, etc . . . ). I was supposed to pick which one I would most likely buy-- there was a pink with green bird silhouettes, teal with red silhouettes, and red with white silhouettes-- and I chose the pink, possibly considering the teal because it was blue-ish and I like blue (lol)-- so, nevertheless, I chose the right one for me, and then Michellanne took a picture of me, because of my very pink skin (one day she came in just after I had showered and I was glowing bright pink, because, well, I do ^_^), so that she could provide the most complementary example of Caucasian skin to accompany her pink-Caucasian design ^_^

Tiffany was talking to me about costume designs for the von Brandt family this whole time, and it was all very fun, and we came to the ground-breaking conclusion (as we always connect our stories, always!): Reginald and Alphonse von Brandt are going to ATTEND Hemsley boarding school (yeah, the OTHER story with Tiffany, lol . . . ) in their youth, CAUSING the relationships with the foreign trade organizations which are so crucial to their plot! Nobody except Tiffany and I really understand the depth of this, besides maybe perhaps Jessica, but to Tiffany and I, this is just AMAZING!!! Lol . . . we're such dorks ^_^

Tammy has "Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis" music for me, and I just need to go stop by and pick it up ^_^!

It is snowing, and it's beautiful!

The report I have to do, though involving of phones, in on a subject that I dearly love, and dearly need to learn more about. Onward, ho!
