A Good-Bad Day
Sep. 28th, 2005 04:52 pmI would like to tell you all that today was a lot better than yesterday, but I'm just not quite so sure just yet . . .
The morning was better. I got my Introduction to East Asian Religions paper (the one that I thought I didn't do so well on?) back, and I got a "10" on it. Now, I don't quite no what it was out of, but I think it was ten, because all over the paper it says things like, "Good!" and "Well-said!" At the end it says "Brief but with good points" (*gasp* ME???) and "well worth developing." So he wanted more, but eh . . .
I also went to the Assembly Series today, too. It wasn't as controversial as last time, but it was still good, lol ^_^
Then Lisa and I went to lunch and walked through a tunnel, lol (like St. Mary's! *Gasp!* Lol . . . ).
My Japanese Civilization teacher just gave us a really awesome assignment, too. We can write about a day in the life of a Heian courtier or court lady! It can be IN FIRST PERSON if we want it to be, too! It's like a story! I really like this kind of assignment, lol . . .
However, in Japanese subsection, I got there late, got stuck in the back, and only got called on twice. I messed up once, so, there you go: screwed for the day. Then in Japanese . . . I don't even know, lol . . .
Then I step outside, and it is POURING rain. Now, Washington University, I have discovered, has no drainage system-- when it rains, it just straight-up floods; everywhere you step is a puddle. I had an umbrella (yeah, I'm not stupid, and I do come prepared, lol . . . ), but that only covers so much. Plus, then, it even makes it that much worse: My legs are wet, but not my torso; the tips of my hair, the bottoms, are wet, but not my top; my sleeves of my shirt are wet, but not my middle . . . it's so nuts, and it's annoying, and it's just worse.
So now everything I own is soaked. I am in a robe, sitting on my computer, with all my clothes draped over makeshift rigged-up clotheslines. My umbrella is draining, as are my shoes, and my backpack lies de-packed and with its contents strewn on the floor, all soaking wet (waterproof backpack, my ass! Lol . . . ).
Tiffany just told me to stop being optimistic.
She meant it for something else, but I like it in this context better ^_^
Anyway, at any rate, I'm being ranty and pissed-off today. I was wanting to go to Orchestra, yet now I don't even want to go anymore (and I fear that they hate me, as they never returned my email, lol . . . ), and I still have Crossing Borders to study for, like whoa . . .
