I was useless yesterday.

I was useless this whole weekend.

At least yesterday I finished my Model UN paper.

I had entirely too much to do with propaganda this weekend. Dad got some movies from the library; the first was "Cartoons Go to War" and it was all about how Disney characters and Looney Toons were all like mobilized and such and such in the movie theaters because 3/4ths of the people watched a movie every week and it got them all inspired to go to war. Apparently Bugs Bunny was actually made a Marine, with the papers and all . . . lol . . .

Then we watched "Battleship Potemkin," that old black and white movie made in about 1925 about a pre-revolt to the Russian Revolution. There was the famous scene with the baby buggy rolling down the stairs, and the lady standing with her baby in front of all the soldiers with their shadows crossing over her. It was a very long movie, for a silent movie, but it was pretty cool, lol . . .

So then when I went to write my Model UN paper I think I carried over some of that revolutionary Communist anger. I wrote about Syria and the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic, because they were the two I requested, but who knows if I'll even get them. Who knows if I'll even get in the Historical Security Council, at this rate? I'll probably end up joining some random group in the regular UN because they screwed up and they didn't bother to stick me in anywhere. It's going to piss me off.

Anyway, in the Ukrainian paper, I was all like, "Communism is a growing revolution in the world, no one can resist! We are expanding and you imperialistic, capitalistic dogs ought to recognize that fact and stop containing us!" *Goes off to vote with Russia on everything* (Ukraine was seriously like part of the USSR . . . they just got a separate vote from Russia, for some reason . . . but all they did was back up everything the USSR said . . . so this will be pretty funny to act out . . . all I do is follow them . . . and maybe give sanctimonious little nods and sniffs when we walk out in protest, lol).

Syria was more like, "Shoot, we're bitter because you gave Palestine to those crazy Jews, and so we're now not voting with the West on anything. We really don't give a horse's patoot what happens in Berlin, we don't have anything there, but we've got an up-and-coming Socialist party and we might as well side with the Commies, I guess."

Ahh, History.

I think it's fun that I get to play two nations that the US has labelled "villians" over the course of history. There was some quote I found once, something about "History will label you with one sentence; what will it be?" and it will pretty much be good or bad, with no middle ground, at least not in the context of the American point of view. I mean, Benedict Arnold was a big hero up until his "defining" moment, which forever labelled him-- negatively-- a traitor.

Maybe for Bush it'll be like, "Everyone was confused and divided," because so many people like him-- and so many people don't.

Jimmy Neutron made overt references to Harry Potter last night ^_^

I still have to write that confounded debate today . . . and *sigh* I probably ought to read that chapter in Economics, too, lol . . .
