Hail, hail, Fredonia, home of the Fredonians.
That was from some Marx brother skit from way back in the day . . . we watched it on New Years, one year, I swear . . . I don't remember when, though.
They were the people that came up with (or at least they were based off of them) those disguise glasses with the big noses and mustaches.
Random thought: A Republican is someone who insists the world is unfair. When it's unfair in your favor, you are obligated to enjoy it and rub it in everyone's face. When it is unfair out of your favor, it's your problem and nobody cares. Hence, Republicans tend to be those to whom life is more often unfair in their favor.
A Democrat is someone who insists that the world is PERFECTLY fair, and will insist on stomping everyone that pokes up above the equality line, which gets lower and lower because some people just . . . don't do anything.
Hmm, sounds optimistic.
I know I've heard that somewhere; I kind of didn't make it up, kind of did. It sort of reminds me of that Bovine Politics that was going around in about tenth grade, that Nichole and I had going in Algebra II-- when Mr. Kuechenberg actually liked us. Now he likes us again, but only because we're in Academic Superbowl ^_^
Neil and Tory got calculators today, and I was like, "I DON'T NEED A CALCULATOR!!! WOOT!!! SCORE!!! I AM FREE!!!"
School tomorrow . . .
. . . BUT NO MATH!!!
I have two classes in the morning now: regular World History, and Spanish I.
My ear hurts, really badly . . . I think I did a number on it with a q-tip.
Tiffany hasn't called me and she said she wanted to get together with me today. We were supposed to have a knitting party.
Regulus is now at least good-looking, though still pathetic . . . I made him new icons. Anyone have good ideas for Peter?
I made Tory her Slytherin scarf, and now I'm started on Nichole's. I thought 17 stitches would suffice, but it turned out skinnier than I thought. It's too late to turn back now, though-- it's still thick enough to like keep the neck warm, covering all of it and everything, but it just looks sort of skinny. I guess I'm just used to my huge one that's 25 across-- which was way too much to keep doing; I got so sick of knitting that thing.
I am listening to Pachelbel's Canon. It reminds me of summer orchestra, back in the day when I was first starting . . . every day I would come in and listen to the last of the big kids practicing, and they were playing that "Theme From Canon in D" which everyone and their dog in orchestra has played. I got so annoyed with it after a while, but now it's sort of nice. It's like the official orchestra song.
