Katie, I just watched Moulin Rouge, too-- last night, in fact. It was good; I liked it. It was nuts-- not really what I expected-- but I liked it.
I'm not sure what everyone is doing today . . .
I think I will work on writing my paper. Murasaki Shikibu ^_^ Heehee, she's got my name . . . lol . . . (actually, that was part of the reason I chose it).
Japan knew how to court chivalrously about 200 years before Europe did.
. . . then they stopped, for some reason . . . (and it was never about knights, anyway, lol . . . their knights weren't really into that sort of thing, apparently).
I think all societies go through the same things, just at different times. Japan has been like Native American US, courtly Medieval Europe, semi-Victorian Europe, militaristic Germany (which, in turn, was also full of "barbarian" at one point, and also very artistic at points, too ^_^), etc, etc . . . it's crazy . . . they all do the same thing . . .
. . . this is why countries are damn stupid if they think they're going to keep other countries from getting bombs when they have them, lol . . .
. . . anyway, just a thought.
